Expansion of Executive Team Supports Product Commercialization and Market Expansion

Somerset, New Jersey. December 14, 2004. NanoOpto Corporation, who is applying novel design methods and proprietary nano-fabrication technology to produce a broad range of unique optical components that enable higher quality, low-cost optical components and systems, today announced that Maria Light has joined the company as Director of Product Management and Business Development.

Light brings 19 years of experience in business development, product management, sales and marketing, and engineering to NanoOpto. Prior to joining NanoOpto, Light was Senior Vice President of Business Development at Inrad, where her responsibilities included leading merger and acquisition activity and initiating strategic alliances. Light also held a senior design engineer role at Litton Laser Systems, where she designed receivers for large rangefinder systems, and where she was part of the design team for the first dual wavelength receiver to be used on lasers that could operate in either active field or eye-safe modes.  Light holds a BS in Electrical Engineering.

“With recent production and design wins in several vertical markets, NanoOpto is focused on successful commercialization of our nano-optic components,” said Barry Weinbaum, President and CEO of NanoOpto. “We are pleased to have Maria join our team, as her combination of industry experience and leadership skills will play a critical role in rapidly delivering the right new products to our markets.”
